Ways to Speed Up the Arrival of Items Ordered Online

Customers hate it when their orders do not arrive on time. They feel like you do not care about their order or your company is too inefficient to handle the bulk of orders. It could be an internal problem, or it could also be a logistical issue with your delivery company. These are some tips to help you speed up the delivery of orders.

Improve the system online

You do not want to complicate the process of ordering products. If people need to register or sign up, you need to reduce the information required of them. Also, if they already have accounts, they do not need to register again. You can even allow them to save their payment details so that they will finish their order within a few clicks if they already know what to purchase.

Change your delivery company

Perhaps, your current delivery company does not deliver (pun intended). As such, you need to consider other options. You can look at a fulfilment company with a proven track record in the business. Find someone who will track the orders and make sure they arrive on time. They also need to be responsible if those orders do not arrive within the date range given. Some fulfilment companies have an efficient system that lets them know if there is an order, so they can quickly send the order to the customer.

Offer options

Most companies have standard and express delivery options. Some people choose standard options which allow them to receive the items ordered several days later. Since they agreed on that condition, they cannot complain that they did not quickly receive their order. However, if you offer an express option, you can collect additional fees. You can inform the fulfilment company about it so that they will speed up the delivery. These people have paid extra for express delivery – soyou cannot disappoint them.

Be realistic

You need to sit down with your delivery company and ask them how you can speed up the delivery depending on the location of the recipients. In some areas, it is impossible to deliver within a day or two. However, if your business is in London and the customer also lives within the city, there is no reason that the item should not arrive quickly. Besides, some customers will understand if the order does not come quickly given their location. It will only be a problem if you already promised them a specific date and you did not deliver. If your shipping company tells you that they could not deliver to a particular place within the expected number of days, you cannot force them.

You want to please all your customers by giving them what they want as soon as possible. Try your best to change the system and make it easy for everyone to track their orders. You need to compete with lots of other businesses, and you cannot be behind.
